Re: What are some good speakers?

Check out the "Shelby GT" speakers, the Brand they use is the Kicker Speakers. They sound excellant. I have them inside my Stang.

Re: What are some good speakers?

the thing is, you want subs that match the speaker. Like, if you have a 10 inch sub thats putting out 200-400 watts of power, 2 door speakers or 2 rear speakers will do just fine. the 10 in. sub will take the "higher" low frequencies, so you'd want speakers maybe with tweeters built in (coaxial) and run an amp to them for the best sound. BUT if you have 2 12" subs running 400 a piece, and your looking for loud, you should run High quality speakers to a 4 channel amp, and make them High Pass speakers. that way your subs take all the bass and your speakers only need to worry about bringing out high frequency sound. That gets Really loud to.

What size are the door speakers and rear speakers? Thanks and if I got some aftermarket speakers would I have to run a amp for them?

Re: What are some good speakers?

they have different sizes but the Easiest to get a hold of are 6 1/2 inch door and 6x9 in Rear. I have a catalog i can send you if your Seriously thinking about getting them. don't want to ship it for nothing.. but if you got aftermarket speakers that are Worth something. (not walmart specials or something that isn't very high quality) than yea you Should run an amp. you don't ever Have to run an amp. it just helps the speakers sound and it runs smoother. it makes it so that your deck isn't working so hard to push power to the speakers with its internal amp. assuming it has one. which almost all do. it also depends on how big the internal amp is. if you get a new deck, it Should tell you

are you currently using stock head unit or aftermarket unit , if sow get some pioneer or alpines, whit stock head or aftermarket units all u need is a speaker with around 50watts rms that's 100watts max rms are the actual watts and max watts are what it can handle.
now if you are installing aftermarket amps then use more watts if you want power, get alpines better sound quality,

---------- Post added at 06:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:50 PM ----------

the sizes u need are front and rear 5x7 not 6x9 they won't fit in front maybe in rear if you cut out some off sheet metal but is around the same sound quality from both, also you need 2" speakers(midrange or tweeters) front rear, but if you are still using stock mach system all you goin to hear is bass from 5x7 and the tweeters on top of 5x7's will get burn, so hope you plan on adding aftermarket amps 4ch for the best sound

Re: What are some good speakers?

Theoretically you only need 2 high quality speakers in front and then subs.. Think about it. You never go to a concert where the speakers are at your back! always facing you! And an amp depends on what speakers you have. High quality speakers, you could get a 400x4 channel amp so you have 100w to each speaker or if only 2 speakers, 200w. all depends on your speakers...and btw. It sounds PHENOMENALLY better having an external amp push your speakers instead of a deck amp

More louder? wow... and no it doesn't just do that! it makes them sound Cleaner, Work easier, And Sound louder than a deck amp. with a separate amp your using the Speakers full potential whereas with a deck amp, your limited to what the amp can push. usually not much..

Re: What are some good speakers?

no always true because if you had the mach460 system like i do you would have 6x8's all around and any aftermarket headunit would bring out their true potential. but you dont... if it was up to me i would go kicker on everything and dont just get front speakers. get all of them thats too half ***. as for subs i would go with 1 kicker VR with a 400watt amp and youd have ur self a decent set up.

Re: What are some good speakers?

no if you have the mach you should have 6x8's all around, and if you get the bigger speakers they have better sound range.

he dont have the mach system , but I guess you can put what ever is on your buget, taste or want, so is up to you, are planning a big system or just basic that fits your pocket? if so let me suggest, four 6x8-5x7(what evers) a 4channel amp and a 12" or 2 10" and use the amp for both your highs and lows, two channels for all speakers and the other two in low-pass for the bass, that should give you a nice system whithout spending alot

I just want something upgraded from stock so I was just gonna go with some aftermarket speakers then if I wasn't completely satisfied I would get a 10 or 12" sub
