I have a 2006 v6 with the shaker 500 system. Is there a USB port somewhere in the car that I am missing to easily connect an iPod. If not is it possible to install an iPod cable using the factory stereo system that I could have come out from the cup holder ?

There is one located in your arm rest. Most likely not a USB connection but a line in connection in there (head phone jack) if u have a source selection for line in then u definitely have one in there and u control it from the iPod not ur radio.

I do have an auxiliary button on my dash but the only port I saw in my arm rest was the cigarette lighter unless I was missing something

I would say look really closely it should be right next to the cigarette lighter it will be small hole that will say in line. The wayt o cinfirm it would be if you hit the auxillary button and it says line in as an option

did you have the auto jack in your console? my 06 does not have it , but in installed the ISimple gateway to mine and Ipod is controled by the radio it works great. The iSimple GateWay - Advanced Car Integration Kit for the iPod and iPhone

not sure what year up till 09 but they only have the aux input, my wife's 2011 edge has the aux input, two USB inputs and the AVR cable inputs.... and a sim card input for nav
