02 GT Mach 460 Ate CD

Just purchased a 2002 GT and went to put in a music CD that I burned. The deck wouldn't play the CD and now I can't get it to do anything. Any ideas on how to get it out? I have tried somethings that I found on the internet but they didn't work. Some have just recommended to replace the deck because the stock decks are known for this problem.

The last time this happens to me I hit the eject button and chose the slot the disk was installed, after it went through the motions and stopped I used a all flat screw driver to open the door of the cd player you should be able to see the disk , then I just pulled it out with a pair of needle nose pliers, these units are notorious for this, hope it works for you !

Thanks RM360. I tried prying open the door but i couldn't see any CDs. I tried cycling through the slots but there is no sound that is shifting through the slots.

If the unit is not cycling through the slots try disconnecting the battery for about 10 mins the cd player should cycle when you connect the battery , these things are a real pain !

You can also try and pull the radio out and unplug the harness and that will totally reset the unit and once u plug it back it it should spit out all cd's that r n there.

Re: 02 GT Mach 460 Ate CD

Well I tried disconnecting the battery and then connecting it back. Unfortunately that didn't work. Tried opening the front and seeing if I could see the CD but nothing. From wht I have read this is a common problem with the stock unit. So I am just going to buy a new unit with bluetooth.

Thanks for the help though!
