New speaker setup

I have a 2000 mustang convertible. I have replaced my two door 5x7 speakers because they wernt loud at all but now im very pleased with.
As for my back 5.25 speakers, could i replace them with tweeters?

I have two CVR 10s in the trunk with a ton of bass so im covered there, i just want more highs in the cabin, and i could spend $40-$60 on decent 5.25 inch speakers or $15-$20 on some tweeters which i think i would be happier with. Im just not sure of they work hooked up there.

Any ideas?

Re: New speaker setup

200 Mustang should have 5x7/6x8 in all four holes. You would do better to spend a little more and get a very good set of speakers, slap the btter set in the front doors, and move the existing ones to the rear.

Re: New speaker setup

I would do a decent coaxial set... Which would be a 5.25inch speaker with the tweeter mounted in the center. Putting just a tweet in there will not really increase you sound. Just for the record, my 2000 white on tan vert had 5x7 behind the grill.

Re: New speaker setup

Look into Powerbass if there is a dealer near you. For right around 70 bucks you can get a great sounding speaker with a one year warranty. I am a Kenwood, Diamond Audio, Memphis, Powerbass, and Cerwin vega Dealer, so if you need any help, pm me.

I just found a 5 inch 250w RMS tweeter i feel like trying in the rear seats instead of my almost non-working 5.25 speaker.
Its a Boss TW50

Re: New speaker setup

Those will be loud, but maybe a bit harsh. Good luck.

Re: New speaker setup

Yes. The 460 is the key here. See, I never op for upgraded factory sound, I do that for a living lol. The other thing I hope you don't run into here....if you are still using the Mach amps, that 5.25 spot may not be playing the high frequencies, thus not allowing the tweet to play properly. Let me know how you like it.
