New Stereo Problem-Help!

I replaced the Mach 460 stereo with an aftermarket Alpine one because the CD's kept jamming. I used all the proper harnesses to put in the new one but from the moment I turn my car on, there's this super loud buzzing noise that I haven't been able to get rid of.

When its not running its perfect no static nothing. But once I turn my car on its like a wasp hive Lol

Sounds like a bad ground.

I don't remember the exact reason but the sound is the alternator I BELIEVE

Take it back out & re ground the black wires. Try it before you out it all back together. This is just a suggestion I'm not SURE it's it

+1! I am by no means an Audio genius, but that's my guess. I took the short cut installing an iPhone adapter,and didn't ground the wire correctly, so I've got to re-do it. But I get the same thing you're describing.

Hopping on the bad ground bus! How did you connect your wires? Did you twist and tape? If you did you should look at crimp caps or solder and heat shrink your wires.

If you still have a good connection in the harness and the noise continues look at connecting your radios ground directly to clean bare metal behind the dash to fix the issue.

I did do the twisting wires and black tape. That could cause the buzzing that's made?

Yes the twisted wires can cause the noise. It is interference from the alternator. Either crimp connect or solder wires should take care of it. If it still persists make the main radio ground 18 inches or less. Also make sure new radio does not require "chassis" ground. Meaning there has to be metal to metal from radio case to car.

I've redone all connections of the stereo to the wire adapters and connected them with the twisting connectors. But the buzzing persists. And one of the black wires from one of the adapter harness has written "chassis ground". What does that mean? It was connected to the black ground from the new stereo.

Chassis ground means it needs to be bolted to sims thing metal. You need to either use crimp connectors or solder. First I would run the chassis ground though.
