A few questions regarding my newly acquired 2000...

Alright first off let me say that I am new to the board and just bought my first Mustang. It is a 2000 V6. Now, I just had a few questions about certain things that I plan on doing to it and was hoping to get some friendly guidance from some fellow owners. Here goes...

1) Headlights - (I know it has been asked before) So the headlights are kind of fogged up and I was wondering if buy new ones would be the best bet? Also, are the 99-04 headlights all the same for all three models (V6, GT, and Cobra)? I ask because I found a guy nearby who had his Cobra totaled and had some nice looking projectors for sale for a good price.

Another option I had with headlights was getting blacked out lenses, but I didn't really want to do this because they tailights have Euro lenses and in my opinion it would look weird to mix the two. Or how much would some nice looking blacked-out taillights run me?

2) Rims - I have found a pair of 17" Black Bullitt rims that are used but in immaculate condition for $300. I was thinking about getting these, but I am kind of wary as to the price of tires for these. Are there any members that have had experience with some low profile tires that are of decent quality that would be ideal for these rims? Also how much would a good quality run me?

3) Exhaust - I would like to do a few low cost mods to give my car a little rumble... Any recommendations?

Also if I could get a few tips on what sites are best for buying aftermarket parts at low cost.

Thanks and sorry if some of these questions are just repetitive or just overall kind of dumb questions.

Re: A few questions regarding my newly acquired 2000...

the 99-04 headlights are the same for all models, in 01 they revised them so they are not chrome (they look better) so pick up a set of those for around 150-200 bucks~ blackouts look bad so dont go there.

17 inch tires generally are 100-150 each~ not that bad the mileage is about 40k a set~ on average. I have yokahoma avs es100 tires and they are very nice but not sure they make them anymore, For a 245/45/17 they would be about 95 a tire.

I would do a catback, you can have it custom made with stainless steel and stainless steel polished tips and decent mufflers for around 300 bucks~ or you can buy a catback and just bolt it up~ the only real question is true dual exhaust or a Y pipe bolt on kit (the stock exhaust goes together after the cats into one pipe~ true dual cuts the Y pipe off and runs a pipe on each side out) this is on the v6 which going by your avatar pic looks like you have~

Hey thanks spector... Yes it is the V6 model. I had wanted a GT or a Cobra, but just couldn't pass up this one due to the price and the condition.

Re: A few questions regarding my newly acquired 2000...

Thanks Herbstang.... I will definitely be referring to that thread. I may not do a bunch of mods right now, as I am still in college and am just using my money for some visual upgrades to start. The exhaust will probably be the third/fourth thing after the rims and new headlights and possibly the window tint.
