Speaker install specs

Hey everyone. Having a tough time finding specific installation specs for my 2014 mustang.

Here's what I've gathered so far... Can someone please confirm?

1) door speakers consist of a 5.25" plus tweeter with 8" subs/mid-bass in the lower quadrant.

2) Rears are the same 5.25" config as doors

What I'd still like to know is how much depth I have to play with in the doors.

Thanks a ton!

I keep hearing those measurements. But didn't they change to component 5.25" plus tweet?

5x7 6x8 both sizes fit it most speaker mount areas. There very close in size even though there different. In the door the space should be a issue with any replacement speaker you through in there. The sub I personally have it unplugged and put JL audio in the truck. Got a tread to check it out. Also they make low profile subs by a few company's like JL for instance but you'll need the cu ft vol. space witch I doubt you find there. So... What are you looking to do??

Should be over a few inches at least as far as depth goes with the door speakers hi-mids, with 5x7 6x8 mounts. And tweeters you can put anywhere you can fit them and they look clean.

Another thing is open the door panel up and look and measure. That's the best way to be sure. You can find tons of instruction how to take off the panel without braking it...

My main goal is to simply replace the factory speakers with Focals. Probably throw in a JL XD amp.

Just want to augment what's there. Stealth install. No big subs needed nor wanted. The 8's in the doors with a nice amp will be more than fine on the low end .

I'm thinking of getting focals for my 05. They should fit fine. I've changed speakers out of many of my vehicle never had an issue. Good luck to you
