DD Headunit Install Help.

Hi guys,

I bought a Kenwood ddx470 and I need to hook up the long green wire running from the head unit, to the parking brake wire (splice it in). There is the red/yellow wire and the black wire running to the parking brake switch. Which wire do I splice the green wire into?? I DON'T wanna do the bypass, please don't tell me how to do a bypass. There are too many posts about that and no specific answers on this.

Picture links: sorry for bad quality just wanna show what i'm looking at.

What's the green wire? Power? Ground?

Question is this wiring for a state law? I looked into it that wire can go straight to ground as the chassis.. Or the black wire on the parking brake. If its a ground wire.... Ground it. You don't have to put it to the brake wires.

+1 you have to have the wire hooked to a power source and the parking brake (acts as a switch) to only allow you to watch movies and stuff while the brake is engaged

Ok that I don't know... I guess that would be a good safety choice

Hola,

So for anyone in the future with the same question, I spliced the green wire from the unit into the red/yellow wire running from the ebrake. works perfectly.
Also credits to my dad for helping with the splice and voltage testing.
