Side Scoops

I'm installing these myself.. I already have the seats and body panels out.. But the directions are confusing as hell. Someone help me out. Please.

Materials:
10/64 bolts (6)
Double Side Tape
Adhesion Promoter
Rubberized Undercoating

Where the hell can I find 10/64" (5/32) allen head bolts? I've been to like 3 hardware stores and the smallest they carry is 5/16". And those weren't even allen head. They were hex head. Where can I get these? Or, alternatively, what else can I use?

The same goes with the 3M 3/4" Tape.. Haven't found it at any hardware or auto store.. It's either 1/2" or 1"... And I think they rate the tape based on stickyness.. What should I use?

The adhesion promoter... I found that. But it says it's for paint adhesion.. Since I'm not painting anything.. What good is that?

Here are the directions I'm confused with:
Step 1: Clean area with prep-solvent
Step 2 : Mask area and under coat
Step 3: Clean tape area of paint and primer residue with lacquer thinner
Step 4: Clean area again with prep-solvent
Step 5: Apply a coat of adhesive promoter
Step 6: Apply double side tape to cleaned area

Okay.. So I prep... Mask the painted areas... Undercoat the unmasked area.. Then I use lacquer thinner on the undercoat? That makes no sense... Then I put down a coat of adhesive promoter and then put tape on top of that? Huh? This really needs pictures.

Somebody help. I know someone here knows wtf he's talking about.

ehhhh they was just about dis long and ehhh about dis deep in threading...

The were about a 3/4 quarter Inch in length HEX/Ratchet, what ya wanna do is take 1 of the scoops into the hardware store with you like Home Depot or Lowes, and see what fits the best. They dont need to be terrably long, but remember they have to be able to fit snug in the scoop threading, and also between the cars body too. And when installing them you will want to make sure you have them fitted just right with the double sided tape, because if you dont they will buckle just a bit and eventually start to bow out a little when the wind catches them... Becuase on ours when they got installed the 1 side fitted perfectly, and then the other on the drivers side started to buckle a little bit and that all I ever heard from me wife about it... but in my case we traded the car in before I had to reach back in there and refit the side scoop once again!

Hope this helps!

Sounds good.

Did you use any of the rubberized undercoating/lacquer thinner/adhesive promoter? How am I supposed to be applying all of that?

WOW you must have bought these things from Saleen to get all of that stuff, I didnt use/have any of the mentioned items. We had boughten ours off of Ebay and had them painted from a local body shop and then we eventually installed them. What I had done was peeled off that plastic covering that was under the V6 Scoop from factory and painted that part black, and then took some 3M Scotch tape and put it back in place, and then just applied the scoops in place and peeled back the 3M doublesided tape and then tightened them up and away it went!

and then as Emerial would say ( BBBAAAAMMMM ) it was done!
