It's a good start but it needs some finishing work. Where did you relocate the HVAC controls to?

Thanks, what finishing work would you suggest? I know it's not as flush as it could be, and the faux buttons to the left of the cig lighter are popped out at the moment so I can reach the lock button on the tablet because I can't figure out how to wake the tablet without having to use the hardware buttons on the side.

I'm going to mount the HVAC controls in the glove box, I just need to extend the wiring...

I would body work the gaps around the radio and the tablet so both are flush. I don't know any thing about android but I bet someone on a android forum would have a way to wake up the thing with out hitting the button.

I would love for it to be flush, just not sure how to fill the gaps, any suggestions would be great.

As far as waking the tablet, I've tried everything but my conclusion is that the screen can wake when the chargers power is cut on/off so I might need to add a switch that cuts the power to either the cig lighter in the center console where it's plugged in, or wire it to the power in the usb cord.

There is an app called tasker that does what you want it to do like turn it on as soon as you give it power. It's not a free app though

Thanks for the feedback guys, here's my improvements:
I've installed the switch wired through the usb charger that cuts power on and off, and used an app (similar to tasker) to wake the screen or let it sleep depending if the switch is letting power to the tablet or not. I've also added a piece of the old radio frame and moved the tablet up a little to get rid of the gaps that were there earlier...

I really like the look. I am in the process of doing something similar, but never thought about relocating the HVAC controls. I have some spare radio bezels that I am using a guide.

One thing you could do it cut out that whole center area of plastic on the radio bezel and then get a sheet of ABS plastic 1/8" thick and create a new bezel. You could then cut out the tablet opening and the radio opening and have it looking clean. You can get a sheet of plastic on ebay for around $10. You just have to splice the plastics together and the you are done.

Also how is the radio mounted behind?

That plastic would look clean. Maybe one day I'll find the patience to do it...

The radio is in its original harness, but I cut it in half because the empty pocket part used to be under it. The radio harness didn't screw to the frame perfectly so I used zip ties because the holes didn't line up. It works though! Here's a pic...

Somebody on one of the other Mustang forums was going to do a writeup on relocating the HVAC controls. I pm'd him today to ask him what he ended up doing. If I find anything out, I will let you know. This might be something that I really look into doing.

Also, you have any pictures of how you mounted the Nexus? I have toying with different way. I have a double din bezel dremelled out and it work, but I see that you did not use anything like that.

I used electrical tape haha. It fits, and doesn't slide down because it rests on pieces that come out the back of the frame

That's looks awesome, I can't believe you fit the deck in the glove box, I couldn't... How do you get to the tablet power button if you ever need it though? I had to keep my false buttons of so I can reach the side of the tablet with my finger, I still haven't found a solution...
