Want to put new speakers and subs in mustang

So I have a stock 2014 mustang and the speakers in my car are ok but I do not have the bass near the bottom of the doors and is there anyway I can upgrade to get it? Also I want some kickers in my car but I don't know what to get that will not take up my whole trunk. Also what is up with the speakers in my trunk on the inside top what do those do?

To get the Shaker Pro door subs I'd recommend:

Get the Ford Shaker Pro speaker bezels (the chrome surround), get a good pair of 8" subs (I like Kicker, despite everyone calling them "mainstream"), a good amp (Rockford Fosgate is my favorite), and take it to a custom audio shop. They'll have to cut a hole in your door's plastic trim and can custom fabricate them in.

As for the trunk sub, I wouldn't recommend it. I went from 2 12" Kicker CVX's in ported boxes to just the Shaker 500 system (now called Shaker Pro) and that's all the bass I need. Plus I left behind 148 pounds of heavy speakers for more power on the pavement.

The trunk deck speakers are just normal speakers like in the front.

You can always add a sub and amp to beef up the bass.. I went with a small clarion amp and a 12" sub with a ported box and used a line in converter that takes a speaker signal from the rear and convert it to an rca output to signal the amp... it was a great way to add some bass and its not to overwhelming. On track days I just remove the box cause it's easy to take out

I just bought my 2014 base GT I'm thinking of changing all stock speakers with kicker replacements and add my 2 kicker comp 10s in the trunk. Leaving factory deck with a little 800w amp. I had 10s and amp pro installed in my truck I traded in so should sound good in stang. And doesn't take up that much room

I gotta say, that just by upgrading my headunit, I got a noticeable improvement in bass from my car. My car is a Shaker 500 car, and I couldn't feel or hear anything from the subs with the factory headunit. I put in a Pioneer headunit and the difference was night and day.

So you did a new head unit with the stock speakers, Sprint? What head unit did you go with?

I went with infinity 6x9's in the doors and rears, the Shelby kicker 8's in the doors, and 1 alpine type r 10 in the trunk. Couple of amps, stock head unit and its all perfect for me. I personally would buy the oem interior door panels from Tousley Ford if I was adding door subs to a car that didn't have them previously. Just a tighter fit and finish

I just installed one 10" RE woofer with a ported box. It's a really good woofer and has 650w rms with 1,100w peak. I am running the stock headunit with a line output converter spliced into my rear stock mach 460 subs. I only have it on like 200watts and it kicks so hard it maks my rear bumper rattle. I also installed a 2farad capacitor witch works wonders and it feeds a 1000 watt amp. It was a b$#h getting the box in the trunk, especially that's mine's a convertible. But I'm suprised how good it sounds and it's not loud outside my car. I hate people who blast subs down quiet streets at night.

The stock stereo was my biggest gripe about my 2014. New exhaust fixed that problem though lol. lots of people just replace the door speakers and not worry about the rear deck speakers. If you want to keep as much trunk space as you can look in to wedged sub boxes that most peopple use in trucks, or a standalone sub/amp combo.
