ditch the mach, or pay the convector fee?

hey guys, so im driving an 02 GT premium (i could be wrong, but i think its a premium) with a mach-1000 audio system in it with six total speakers, six amps, and two 12" subs.

i went to cartoys to try and price out a new deck for my car, cause the stock mach deck doesnt have an
AUX or USB or anything i could possibly use to connect my phone (stupid, i know.) and the guys are cartoys told me i had three options...

1: spend $160 on parts alone to connect the new deck to the old system with a slightly worse sound quality (not enough to be noticeable, apparently.) plus the instal fee, plus the deck price.
2: pay $250 and have the amps cut completely out of the equation, and just do the speakers and subs. (id really rather not)
3: spend X amount of money and just ditch the Mach system entirely and replace all of the speakers, maybe the subs, maybe the amps, but probably ditch it all.

what do you guys think?

Get a new head unit. That's what I did. And it works just fine with the Mach audio as long as you get the proper wiring.

Its really up to what you want. I wanted the same thing as you, to be able to listen to music from my phone. So I just ditched the entire head unit and bought a new one.

Dude, go to crutchfield.com Under the car audio section they have a "what fits my vehicle". They have taken apart most cars and found what will fit it. They will sell you a head unit and give you the necessary wiring and mounting hardware, along with a vehicle specific wiring diagram free. And their prices for a good headunit aren't bad.

For simplicity I would just wire it in like Soccer. I personally try to avoid buying Mustangs with the Mach crap in them because its way easier to use the stock wiring and just install a set of quality speakers/components and run off the HU or wire in a mild speaker amp.

No need for a touch screen like that either unless you have a carputer or something, at least IMO but that's me. With the screen sizes on some of these phones just get a dock, run a hard wire to the input down the a-pillar and behind the dash to make it look clean and control it all from ye-olde smartphone. Unless you have an icrap with the 4" screen. Lulz.
