It was an afterthought. I should have asked them if they could fab up an adapter for a 6s to an iPad mini 4 size. Having a 3D printing guy see if it's feasible to make the adapter.

EDIT: They said mine should be shipping today. Anyone that wants $50 off shoot me a PM. I haven't received mine yet so I can't comment on the quality!

iPad Mini Dash Mount (2010-2014)

I'll fill in the details at a later time. It seems I got one of the first models. I will say it is pretty cool for car shows and such!

Now use this code : 50offStang so you can save some money!

Really wish these had been available back in May. Ended up getting a Raxiom kit for $450. Still like this better.

Especially now that the latest Sync update allows the Bluetooth to be the default connection when you turn the car back on instead of having to reconnect every time.

Wait, so it IS possible to update SYNC on the 11-14 models?

Yup. If you log into your "my ford" site and run the self check diagnostic on your car it will tell you if an update is available. The biggest thing with the update is having the right USB thumb drive, as apparently it's picky.

Wow, that's crazy since everybody was saying it was only for the S550 now. Which USB drive are you using?

I've tried like four different brands, none have worked, I gave up. Haha.

Maybe you just have to format the drive to a different file system type. I don't have Sync so I have zero knowledge on updating Sync.

EDIT: I checked into it, should be FAT32 which is most of the flash drives default file system....

For the life of me I couldn't find any of the 4-5 I own, so I went to the store and bought one for $8. I think it was a Sandisk or Lexar. And it was like 16gb. I still remember my freshman year of college needing a flash drive for my MatLab class. 256mb and $99...

If it doesn't work return it and get another brand. Search the GT forums, there's a pretty good thread about it and also some troubleshooting. I would link but I'm on my phone.

I know, I was part of that thread. I've tried Samsung, PNY, and two or three others. Figured they would be better quality than SanDisk, but no.

Any problems with Raxiom nav kit? I really want nav but I'd much rather have the factory over the Raxiom, although that seems nearly impossible. Also not willing to pay 6 bills for a new Raxiom system.

No problems with mine save for one time where the screen just wouldn't turn on. Took it all apart and put it back together and it worked so I'm not sure what happened.

I too would have preferred factory nav, but $$$. Keep an eye on eBay, see the Raxiom systems going for $400-500.

Ive been on the hunt ever since i saw the Musicar video on youtube of their dash mount kit. I called and even at their ridiculous price they were not interested in making one. It seems like the only way to get this setup is through Audio Designs and Custom Graphics. I wanna give a shoutout to @Spartanator for letting us in on that code, because of that I noticed a nice little 100offStang Coupon code to get everyone $100 off . At $199.99 that makes this worth it, to me at least.

All these companies say sold out. What pisses me off is that it's most likely they've bit off more than they could chew and took too many orders. Bet they took people's money though.

Particle type board (the lightweight marine type), cut out hole for iPad and cut out back so it goes over buttons, place small piece of cardboard in hole for iPad (on top or bottom, your choice) so the iPad will come out when you push on top or bottom. then wrap in any kind of material you want. I actually had this one made for myself for free. guy I know owns a shop and they had all of the materials laying around. didn't charge me a dime.
