Sub & Amp Question

I bought a mrv-m500w alpine amp and I'm looking to connect one 12" sub to it. Now I'm debating if I should put in an infinity kappa or an alpine type-r. Both run $250 on best buy. Any suggestions? I heard infinity is in the top 5 best subwoofers for 2014 but the type -r alpine used to be better...

Between those two subs you aren't going to hear much of a difference if any at all. Plus it's only one 12" so probably nothing you could tell by your hear anyways. Also I would not buy it from best buy. Check Amazon first, or hifisoundelectronics.

Between the 2 Id take the Type R. Personally Ive never been a Infinity person. The Type R's can take a beating.

I agree try some place other than best buy. I just bought some Kenwood 6x8 for the rear, at BB they were 99.00 and at Amazon they were 45.00.

Like he said the type r's can take a beating. I have one in a ported box. Hits very nice in the trunk of my mustang!

Not to pitch in a third wheel but maybe give Polk audio db 1240 a try. You can two of these for less than $150. No I haven't used em but as per customer reviews, they're really awesome. Tight and punchy bass!

Infinity kappa hands down better then the alpine type r. If you know how to read the technical speaker parameters you will see for yourself it is better. However, I suggest not buying it from bestbuy, go somewhere such as sonicelectronix or woofersetc
