Need some advice

Okay I have an 05 gt with the shaker 1000 system in it. I've never been the kind of guy to want a crazy nice system in my car but I really want to go all the way with my mustang. I do think the 1000 is good and so da r the only thing I've been planning on upgrading is the head unit. (not sure if that's what it's normally called) to a kenwood gps /dvd player. What I really wanna know is if there is anything else not very expensive that I can also do that would be on the cheaper side but really give me some bang for my buck. Something that can be done by a normal guy. I have searched good but haven't found anything about something this specific which is why I have turned to the forum. Anything will help thank you.

Yes there is. Keep the factory HU, upgrade the factory speakers in the doors and rear deck and install a 4 channel amp to power them. I assume the shaker 1000 has a rear sub too? If it does then keep that factory sub and add a mono amp to it. If you really want to clean up the sound even more add a sound processor. I have all of the above and an AudioControl DQDX processor in my '13 and I love it. There are other processors out there, but I have no experience with any of them. BTW, I kept my factory 8" door subs running on the stock amp. This will give you a really good bang for about $1500.

You're welcome. If you feel up to the challenge, I recommend running all new speaker wire too and installing some Dynamat. The biggest challenge of running new speaker wire is unplugging the Molex connectors from the doors (small hands will make this easier). You will need to drill a 5/16 hole in one of the corners of the Molex connector to pass the new speaker wire through.

Great choice for one stop shopping. I've ordered several items from Crutchfield, including the DQDX. Their customer service has always been great too.

That's exactly why I decided to go with them. I heard they are very helpful if you have trouble with install. I'm not used to installing electronics so it's good to know that I cam call for help if I need it.
