Changing to doubled in on 97 GT.

Is it possible to change to double din system on a 97 GT? I know I would need a different console. Do they make them?

yes it will fit but you will also need the shifter bezel portion as well to match up. also to note, the color doesn't quite match up as they are going to be charcoal, not black. most guys will also make a bracket because it doesn't quite mount the same and can be a little flimsy with the extra weight of a double din unit.

It should not 100% tho... this was one of the first things did in my 99 revive. The dash is pretty similar but may require a little work to fit on a 97. As for the 99 swap I bought the Mach version replacement surround from my local pick n pull for 45 bucks. It's a pretty straight foreword swap just remove the shifter trim then the radio and cd changer using a couple paperclips or the ford removal tool. once they are out the bezel is pressure clipped into place just be careful not to force on a corner try to pop from middle the work your way out.

There are a couple screws holding the radio frame to the dash two on the bottom of the bezel you can see right above the shifter trim. The other two are above the cd changer pointing down... You can see the holes on the pic
