installed kenwood receiver

today I installed a kenwood receiver I got from crutchfield. it was remarkably easy. crutchfield gives you 50% off the dash kit when you buy a receiver and the website walks you through all the adaptors and what not you will need. I opted to retain my steering wheel controls. I had to solder 15 or 20 wires and flash the module for my year and make car. removing the stock radio and installing the new kenwood took less than 1/2 hour. its a nice upgrade over the base system I had.

Nice!

Is this your first install? If you take your time it's a very easy thing to do.

it wasn't my first install but my last install was a craig 8-track in 1972. just a bit different procedure lol. I had already installed that ford racing short shifter too so was familiar with how that area came apart.

ok so I discovered that the climate control buttons on the scosche dash kit did not light up at night makin it hard to see at night. I wasn't able to find out if that was normal or if I had a defective unit. Crutchfield let me exchange it for the Metra unit. The metra was a little more difficult to install but it moved the receiver higher and all climate controls are on a touch screen. I like the Metra unit better.
