2015 GT premium speaker upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their 15 speakers yet? I've got the 9 speaker system.

Upgrade it lol. Factory speakers are cheaper paper weights.

Exactly just money

The factory 8" are pretty decent if you put the right amp on them. All my speakers are replace besides them and there all amped. With a custom 12" in the rear.

It was only 4grand but hey. Every one can hear me coming.

So Shep, I have a 2016 eco boost premium with the shaker system - and no trunk subwoofer. If I push the fade to rear speakers only, there is no basis whatsoever. I thought replacing the speakers would be the way to go, but I was wrong. My guess is the whole system is designed to work with a subwoofer in the trunk, and the rear deck speakers are just midrange/treble units. The head unit sends signals in frequency ranges, eg bass, midrange and treble in the front of the car, and I believe at the back also. So,,,,,, changing the deck speakers did nothing to improve the bass output, because the amp doesn't send any bass output to them. This makes sense for the system when it has a trunk subwoofer included, but if not, the rear deck speakers are pretty much a complete waste of time. I am not happy with my findings so far.

Yeah with new vehicles like these it's best to add something like an audio control lc2i for a sub or lc7i if your doing the whole system. Stock head units remove low frequency to protect speakers and the audio control adds missing bass frequencies back in.

The lc7i is great for complete system cause you can wire in leads from tweeters, mid ranges and subs if you have them, it processes the sounds into one channel out and adds in missing bass frequencies. I have an lc7i on my 14 fx4 with 2 12's, 4000 watt auto tek mean machine, and a 10 Farad hybrid capacitor and the truck slams.

Still haven't decided what we are gonna do to the wife's new gt. But it needs a sub bad.
