Raxiom oe-style gps navigation w/ bluetooth & back-up camera

Has anyone used this gps before? How good is it? Is it worth the $700ish for it?

Apparently a lot of issues have kept the 1st model from being a solid replacement/upgrade to the OE setup. They now have a Gen 2 though so I am wanting to know what that one has over the other. Hopefully reliability.

The GPS works fine. "Worth" is subjective. What is it worth to you to not have another gadget up on your dash?

I want to buy it. I think it's worth it, I just wanted to see what other thought of it. If they knew problems with it

If you want a new more powerful radio, you will be disappointed. If you want to add a touchscreen, GPS, and backup camera to your factory radio, you won't be disappointed.

I don't really care about how awesome the radio is. As long as I get the 4-5 stations I listen to, I don't care.

I'm told there are better GPS/Radio units out there for less but for my part I couldn't find one that would be a OEM type fit. I just bought and installed this unit over Christmas and love it. Solid six hour install with reverse camera being two of those hours. Zero problems thus far and I do quite a bit of driving. Exceptionally pleased at the price point I got it for. AM has them on sale now and again for $500 w Sync. For $500, it's worth it IMHO. $600 would be iffy. $700, it's worth waiting for it to go on sale. One item of note; you can upgrade maps for a fee. Preprogrammed maps were five years out of date (par for the course with any GPS unit) but for the life of me I can't find the purchasable map update from Rosen anywhere. (Rosen makes the Raxion unit). Maps are good just not current current irritates me.

I believe the site for updates is naviextras.com and you use the micro sd card to update.

The naviextras.com site leaves a lot to be desired as far as identifying your unit (Raxion is remarked Rosen) for nav file updates. JRstang, what do you mean "information to use factory antenna"? On my unit the antenna port on the unit accepted the standard antenna line. Literally plug and play.

I think he's talking to me about using the factory satellite antenna for GPS thru the Raxiom, thus eliminating the need for a separate antenna.
