Backup camera

I love my 2012 red convertible! I hate backing up out of a parking space with the top up. It has 2 built in huge blind spots. You almost need a guy with a white cane to get out and guide you so you don't run into someone or something. It's not always convenient to put the top down. Rain etc!

That being said I'm looking into a backup camera system and wondered what others have done.

What brand. Where purchased. How and where did you mount the monitor.
Quality of the image. Wired or wireless.

Etc.

Thanks!

Not sure that I would trust a guy with a white cane to direct me out!

I agree with you on the blind spots . Other than replacing the Shaker with something else, I haven't found a solution yet. So will be watching the thread

My used 2012 came with a B/U cam in the rear view mirror and it works fine. Just remember that synch Mustangs have a microphone and the compass sensor in the factory mirror. Mine has a mic added on the A-pillar but you lose the compass reading on the display. Not a big deal to me. I believe that Ebay vendors have the same system as the Raxion for a lot less too.

Very nice stuff but I'm not wanting to replace my current system. Just want to add a backup system to the car. I had talked to a Car Toys place here but they wanted $1200 to install a full system with camera etc.

Also don't want to use a clip on rear view mirror. That just looks kinda cheesy to me.

The LCD equipped mirror "clips on" just like the OEM one does, it replaces the entire mirror assembly and it is auto dimming too.

I was about to say that also. If you don't want either of those setups, then a backup camera might not be for you. Lol. Because in these cars, you either have a backup camera that is tied to an LCD in your Radio area, or your rearview mirror will have it built-in.
