Advice on speaker install

Ok guys I bought a 2016 GT and it has the shaker 500 (9 speakers). I want to install a sub and amp in the truck. Will it sound decent with the factory head unit and speakers..do I just need sub amp and line out control or will I need anything else. Not looking to beat down the block just want some nice sound and bass

no problem, i used solder and shrink wrap and havent had any issues. you dont need a LOC either youre just tapping into speaker level connections

You are going to want one of these Audiocontrol LC2i, LC2i - AudioControl Not only does it give you line out connection but you get dedicated rear speaker output, adjustability to your bass channel and a remote turn on without having to splice into the factory harness to find one.

Do the 2016 not have the power wire for the antaenna in the trunk like the previous generation? That's what I used before I purchased aftermarket head unit on my 2014.

In my 2012 I put in a 2000 watt Pioneer 5 chanel amp 4 5/7 JL 2 way a 12 inch Pioneer comp sub and all new wires. A few months later I also replaced the head unit with a pioneer avh 5800 What a difference. The factory equip is garbage.

Honestly its pretty easy to pull apart the dash and do your own wiring on installations with some decent directions and the right equipment. And if you want to really do it right watch a how to video on sauder and shrink wrapping. But if money is not an object by all means get a professional.

Agreed I did mine myself but it does require time doing it and researching what will and won't work You also can buy the parts online you get the best prices and if you use eBay no sales tax. A new head unit will require a dash assembly to separate the climate controls from the radio. Everything without Mac cost me 1500 including backup camera wiring to get video from my I phone to play on the SBS screen
