Parking brake wire color?
So some time ago I installed a Kenwood DDX-9702S in my 2014 GT so I could use Apple CarPlay. LIke most double-DIN radios, there's a wire that needs to be connected to your parking brake wire to prevent operating the navigation, etc. while moving. When I installed the Kenwood, I just connected that wire to ground (so the stereo thinks the parking brake is always on) and everything worked great.
Last week I switched to an Android phone, which uses Android Auto instead of Apple Carplay. When I connect my phone, I get an error that I need to engage the parking brake before using the app. So I pulled everything apart, disconnected the parking break lead and connected it to a bypass relay that has three wires: 1 to ground, 1 to parking brake wire, and 1 to the remote (amp turn-on) wire. Still doesn't work.
So I'm wondering (1) if anyone else has run into this and been able to successfully bypass it and (2) if anyone just wired the stereo to the parking brake wire as intended-which color wire do I need to tap into?
