Speaker specifications

I have a 2011 Mustang GT convertible with the factory navigation and Sync.

Does anyone know what the specifications of the rear door speakers are? I am going to happen a guess that they are 2Ω just like the front speakers.

I am eyeing a part of Infinity KAPPA 682.11cf for the front speakers and if the rears are the same specs as the front, I'll just get 4 KAPPA speakers.

its funny to me to read rear door on anything mustang lol

it may depend on what exact stereo system you have. be it shaker 1000 or shaker 500. crutchfields website says that the regular 4 speaker system has 5.25 or 5 1/4 speakers in the rear of a convertible

Yeah, I was typing too fast. I meant the rear speakers.

I did talk to Crutchfield about the front speakers, but I am being particularly anal about the specs. The front door are 2-way, 2Ω speakers.

I'll just have to measure them myself. That just means more work to do on the car. Alas.

It never ends, does it? :-O

I purchased an installed a pair of Infiniti Kappa 682.11cf speakers and the direct 8" sub replacements from Shelby/Kicker from the Shelby Store. The sound is far better than the junk factory speakers.

The only difference is that I must have misread the speaker specifications from Crutchfield. A post under their Mustang install page mentioned that the front door speakers should be 2Ω, but the customer in question had a 2014 Mustang GT. Mine is 2011 and when I pulled out the factory front speakers, they are 4Ω. Either the information in the Q&A was wrong or Ford changed the specifications in later model years. Regardless, I am happy but will have mind the volume...I don't know the limit of the stock head unit in regards to current drive for the speakers.
