Not as much bass

I have a 1999 LX 35th Anniversary with the Mach 460 sound system. The previous owner had a system in the car before he sold it. The stock stereo is in the car now. Now, my father has a 1999 SVT Cobra with the 460 in it. I did a comparison side by side, had the setting the same with the same song playing in both. What is wrong with my stereo that it doesn't have as much bass as his?

have you tried turning the bass up? there is an option on the stereo. if its not the settings you may just have a ragged out stereo~

Mine thumps pretty good, I play it with the bass all the way up, the treble about 3 bars above normal, and with the "DSP" at none

I bought a 460 6 disc changer..it has absolutely no bass coming from the actual cd player. I guess all the bass comes from the rear amps...but o well. I'm prolly just gonna amp all my speakers to make it sound ok
