| New guy from Nola
Hello everyone!
My name is Dave, I heard about this place from DarkShadows. I post a lot on a local forum NOStreetRacing.org
I know I'm a little out of place here since I drive a Honda, but I like all things automotive.
I mainly registered on here b/c I heard about the meet in NOLA and I'm trying to help a co-worker sell a 96 Mystic Cobra. I'll post a For Sale thread in a few minutes, but I just wanted to make sure I introduced myself to everyone so all of you guys didn't think I was some kind of spammer/scammer LOL.
So do you guys mind if someone with a Jap 4 cyl post on here? lol

Well, my Civic has a 2000 Si motor (B16A2), with around 93k original miles. So far I have the basics: Greddy SS header, Buddy club Spec II cat back, HKS Ground wires, NGK Spark plug Wires, front and rear upper and lower strut tower/sway bars, Skunk2 upper control arms, Energy Suspension shifter bushings, ES torque mount inserts, Hasport billet motor mounts, 99-00 front end swap with JDM CTR Headlights, sidemarkers, CTR front and rear lips, JDM airbag delete, and a bunch of other random JDM goodies.
Oh, and I'm not from Baton Rouge, I live right outside of New Orleans.
As for the 96 Cobra, it does have only 1200 original miles. The owner of the car is a retired chemical plant worker that works part time as a delivery driver here at Napa in Reserve. He is the original owner of the car. I'm pretty sure I can't post a link on here to the for sale thread I have on the other forum but; I am trying to get him to bring it out either Saturday or Sunday to the lakefront for the meet you guys are having.

welcome to the site.
dont worry about owning a honda here, we don't disrespect a person from the car the drive - only the attitude they bring with it. we treat asshat honda owners the same as asshat mustang owners.

My best buddy drives a '91 Civic EF. I tell him everyday to buy a Ford.
I wind up hanging out with a lot of Honda guys here locally and they are very cool. Some of them even have fast Hondas! I didn't know there was such a thing!

I've watched a few Hondas back in the day run some 11s at the track. But of course they couldn't drive these home. I'm sure technology and aftermarket has gotten much better for them so I'm sure its much more easily obtainable and streetable since 2005 to run good e.t.s

Thanks for all the welcomes fellas, I'll let my friend know about the Denham Springs Hooters meet. I know that there are TONS of asshat Honda owners, I always get lame riced out body kitted **** trying to race me in traffic on the way home after work. I normally just laugh. This car isn't fast by any means, but I wouldn't necessarily call it slow either lol.

Oh, and as you can see I like the oem/jdm look. I'd rather spend a little more money on some factory Japan parts, than some crappy aftermarket junk that we sell state side.
I also have a 94 Acura Integra GSR that I've been working on for the last few years.
I've been thinking about buying a 74 Maverick from a friend of mine for cheap and throwing a big Ford motor in it.

I thought the same thing, but the only replies I get are: WOW that thing is nice! and also: Why does it have only 1200 miles on it?? etc.
I'll probably end up trying svtperformance.com, Someone had suggested that site and another mustang one but I can't remember what it was.

modularfords.com wouldn't be a bad place to list it either.

Random Question:
Do you have the green/yellow arrow hanging up in one of your windows? The sign over from Japan that indicates a new (young) driver?

Okay. Guess it's just a regional thing.

I see a lot of people doing that now days. I just don't like flashy stickers and decals, my car draws enough unwanted attention already lol.

i read this post before, i guess i forgot to say welcome, sorry about that.
btw, do you have pictures of this cobra? ill i've heard is that it has 1200 miles and is for sale, would be interested in what it looks like and what he wants for it... (mostly just curious, can't really buy another car atm, so if you would have to go through a lot to do this don't worry about it just for me )

thanks for the welcome guys!
I would post a link, but I don't think that would be a good idea, since I haven't reached 100 posts yet.
