Saddened Mustang owner new to forum

Hi Everyone,

So I am a now the emo owner of a beautiful white manual 1998 Ford Mustang with 145,000 miles on it. Thanks to the dreaded "Check Engine" light, it seems that my baby is doomed unless I can figure out how to DIY...and seeing as how my knowledge of cars was limited to turning it on and putting gas in it.. we'll see if I can save it..

Welcome to the site man. First thing I would suggest is take it to an autozone or something and have them pull the codes so you know what your dealing with.

if it still drives pretty good I am sure its something extremly simple. Get to autozone etc and get the code read (not just the code number but what it actually says it is) then post back up and we can go from there.

Definitely. They can pull the code in about two minutes (including the walk outside). Hopefully it's just an O2 sensor or something else easy.

check engine lights are your friend. They let you know when something is wrong. Post up the code when you get it run and we can assist you more from there.
