06 Mustang

I'm Rick, from MS, came across a deal I couldn't refuse. Just bought a white 06 five speed with the 4.0 6cyl . Has 21k miles on it, no scratches, garage kept, basically spotless...... paid $9800. So....where can I spend the rest of my money?? Rather, what can I do to upgrade everything starting with the sound system without changing the factory look? Would just like to go with as much OEM as possible. Any suggestions? Sites? Thanks!

Re: 06 Mustang

i don't know much about the stereo, but i would suggest gears since they wouldn't add or subtract from the look. I can't think of anything thing else, maybe lowering it, but if you like the oem look than i wouldn't suggest it.

btw, welcome, post some pics of your car.

Re: 06 Mustang

welcome :thumbs2:

Sounds like a very nice car, not to mention a sweet deal.
As far as audio, you could upgrade to the Shaker 1000 subs in the trunk, though you'll probably pay a ton through a dealership to get them. You could try and wire amps and subs off the stock Shaker system. I'm not too great in the audio department.

Re: 06 Mustang

Wow, what a good deal! I would suggest starting with the sound, I have a shaker 500 no sub, but it's still really powerful and produces good sound. The shaker 1000 is even nicer. If you still have some more money to blow after the sound, up-grade the wheels to the 17" found on the pony package. I would even look at the pony grill, or the GT style fog lamps. There is always the GT exhaust which would give more of a rumble.

Re: 06 Mustang

very nice, i wouldnt mind having a car like that, get a nice exhaust setup, an underdrive pulley, a cai, and a tune you should be good to go then (gears and tlok if you dont mind losing some gas mileage)

Re: 06 Mustang

Thanks guys... not sure where to start actually. I'm really not that familiar with the 4.0L
6cyl. Are there any significant changes to be made without switching the engine or spending tons of money??? Keep in mind.....I would love to use OEM parts and keep it factory looking on the outside. Also, with what needs to be done, I have been offered by a local Ford dealership basically pleading for me to help them out before the end of the month a hell of a deal on an '09 GT Deluxe. Very, very nice .... It's a stick with all the options including the Shaker soundsystem. They are asking just over $32k on the sticker, so I told them that with the rebates and my trade and some minor negotiation, I would pay $18..... The GM was ready to talk, but I left and made them sweat!! LOL I'll go back this weekend I'm sure. Anyway, stick with what I've got??? Or invest a little more and get the GT Deluxe which is good to go???? Suggestions???

Thanks for all the responses before.... I will try post some pics on here today!!

Re: 06 Mustang

The call on upgrading is solely up to you....depends on what you want. Less to mess with out of the box on the GT, remember that part.
