New Oregon GT Convertable owner

Hi, we're proud to announce the birth of our new 05 GT convertable. She is Windveil blue, 5 speed, parchment top and interior. She came decked out with all the goodies including the v6 mustang decal on the door. We added Borla mufflers, Steeda cold air intake, and a light bar to match the interior. "Lucky" arrive Aug 15, after 5 months of "labor" after ordering her. Pictured is my daughter in front of the car while we were touring lava beds in Central Oregon.

^ haha, where he says "it's actually sonic blue" he's talking about his car. That's part of his sig.

He had an 01 Mineral Gray v6, now he has a Sonic Blue GT.

Re: New Oregon GT Convertable owner

Because my boyfriend, Jim, wanted the decal on the car when he orded the GT. He paid 500.$ extra to have that "goodie" put on. Sorry for the misunderstand earlier. I'm learning the jargon. By the way, what it the best way to clean the top of the convertable?

I find that simple soap and water works, but I have a black top so it wouldn't show dirt or stains as well the parchment would.

If you stay on top of it though and wash it without letting dirt/stains sit for extended periods, simple soap and want should keep it plenty good. I wash my car about every week or every other week depending on how much it is out from under the cover. Currently, it doesn't get out much because premium gas is getting hard to find around here.

Re: New Oregon GT Convertable owner

Did we get lucky or is the my color dash option something everybody got? I hear that some models (they predicted many) did not get the standard option.

There was an option for a color changing dash light system, but it wasn't standard.

Re: New Oregon GT Convertable owner

Welcome, wish I still had my GT Convertable, but she was totalled and I am lucky to be alive, if I were you I would sell that light bar and get a real roll bar that will protect you if it ever rolls over. For cleaning the top, try Greased Lightening, diluted or full strength and a small scrub brush, then treat with something to preserve the top rinse that greased lightening off well.

Re: New Oregon GT Convertable owner

I had an 86 V6 vert with white on white, a 94 V6 vert with parchment (tan) top and laser red paint, then the 99 GT with black on black.
