Re: hi new guy needs ansewers?

do you have an aftermarket cam? The 5.0s are set in the cpu to idle at 650 rpms~ and the cam usually wont let them, thus the cpu is trying to compensate and you get the rpm jumping. If you have a stock cam I would try to clean your MAF wire, clean your air filter (or replace depending), clean your idle bypass valve (IAC) and make sure all of the electrical hook ups are good and connected right. Reset the battery lastly and see how it goes after driving it normaly for a few miles.

Re: hi new guy needs ansewers?

as for the alternator, to upgrade to a 95 amp, you should at least run a new power wire over to the selenoid, run an 8 gauge wire in addition to the factory one, and all should be good

to run 13's, you will need the Mass Air conversion, there are differnet ways to convert, theres a 400 dollar kit, then there is a kit where you track down the computer for the Mass Air yourself, and it gives you the wiring harness to add the Mass Air using a meter your found yourself

if you decide to track down everything yourself, heres a list of computer codes so you know what you can use and what you can't: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=17

Re: hi new guy needs ansewers?

right now, just get everything in proper running order

do you plugs (autolites preferably, NO PLATINUMS), some good quality spark plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, change the oil, and anything else you could possibly think of

it wouldnt even hurt to crack open the tranny, and put fresh fluid in it (5-speed still have fluid), and drain the gear oil out of the rear and put fresh in with friction modifier

Re: hi new guy needs ansewers?

There is also special electronic spray cleaner which might even be better, I think Auto Zone stocks that. Only a few dollars.
