im thinking about putting headers on my 2005 mustang gt, but my buddies said i might have to take the heads off and mess with that.. is that true?? please any helpful advice is needed
No, it isn't true. To put headers on you take the stockers off and install new. You may need a tune update, but you don't have to remove heads to install headers.
That's how I installed mine. It's a PITA with space and all, but it can be done on jackstands no problem. You may want to drop the K-Member just to give yourself some extra room as well.
i didnt drop the k member. the install is alot easier than alot of people told me. i just drove my car on ramps and did it on the ground. do the drivers side first, its the hardest. but its still not hard. you have to unbolt the driver side motor mount only and jack the motor up some to clear the steering shaft. the pass side slips right in. the worst part is getting to the bolts to bolt the headers up. be careful on buying cheap headers esp. if you get longtube headers. go with kooks and they fit perfect. need any help just ask me.
o ok. click on my picture in here and it will bring you to my profile. under my profile picture it says send message with an arrow next to it. click the arrow and a drop down window will come down and click send private message. i have pictures of my header install also so check them out. i can send you a video on how it sounds. the video kind of suck but will give u a rough idea.
good luck bro im going to be in the same boat but i wont have to do it with jack pops owns a auto shop i hope it will make my job go smooth but with cars if isnt one thing its another. good luck with to upgrade been looking at clips of cars im sure youll love the outcome.
