Re: first time buyer

welcome :thumbs2:

First, let's see some pics of that GT! You won't have any problems regaining bragging rights. Those 3v's respond fairly well to mods. Is it a auto or manual?

That's alright, you can still make autos plenty fast. A solid tune will make your auto feel like a completely different car.

Re: first time buyer

SCT is probably the choice tuner here. Everyone I've talked to has been very happy with SCT. Definitely get a custom tune, no pre-loaded (or canned) tunes from vendors. Places like VMP Tuning, BamaChips, or Brenspeed are good vendors where you can get custom tunes specifically for your car the way you want. You may want to start a thread in the 2005-2009 section to get some answers from the 05+ owners.

Re: first time buyer

welcome, with a 14.6 there is much still left on the table in stock form so more experience will help there.

There are tons of mods to get them from 260rwhp stock (manual trans) to 300-320 just regular bolt ons as well.

Re: first time buyer

Yah you will experience different times at the track. There are several variables to consider: your experience, air, temperature, tires, tire temps/pressure.

With an auto, you can do several mods to aid your 1/4 mile runs, and not just in the power department. Suspension, weight, tires, and transmission mods are huge for proper launches and gripping. Your reaction time is a factor as well.
