check this out man i am new to the site but not new to cars, the frist thing i do is find out what brand or brands you are going to go with then make my pick as far as money goes you pick the wrong hobby if u going to be cheap it will pay later there is a lot of good ways to start out frist i go with induction an exust focus on letting your car breath better an a tuner is always a great idea but be sure to get a cold air kit when you buy your tuner, that it self is a big hp gain with the use of a off road x pipe is even better !!!!!

Re: need help

Here's another article for v6 modifications:

V6 Mustang Modification Guide

Just some advice based on past experience...I'd stay away from RPM Outlet. They are notorious for messing up orders, taking forever to ship products, etc. I had issues a few years ago, but I highly doubt they got their **** together...I'd stick to site sponsors.
VMP Tuning, Bamachips and Brenspeed are great for custom tuning if that's what you want to do.

Re: need help

gears/tlok with a tuner to fix speedo and "tweek" the car for a slight gain.. a big seat of the pants feel if you have an auto (with a tune from someone that KNOWS how to tune the v6s ask when you get there we can recommend someone)

So how many V6 Mustangs have you built? If you'd like to continue this conversation just PM me, be more than happy to discuss. No need to clutter the OP's thread.

Re: need help

my 01 v6 was available to use a speedcal unit to fix the speedo so no tuner was required. Its about 100 bucks vs 400 (no including tune) for a tuner~ just another option and is quite easy to setup~ if you are going to tune the car anyway just go that route but if not for a while a speedcal (dallas speed cal is what I had) will work possibly.

with a good tune you may see 10rwhp or so if you have bolt ons, it makes a big diff in shifting if auto~ but not a huge difference.
