Hello

Hello, my name is Perry S. Wyatt Jr.

I took delivery of my 2005 Mustang GT on 6/6/05. I special ordered this car and my name is on the window sticker. I had always been a Chevrolet guy and have owned several 1969 Camaro's, but when Ford introduced this "retro" Mustang, I had to have one !
I got it in the same color that my favorite 69 Camaro was and this car by far exceeds anything the 69 Camaro was ! The warranty has long expired and it is "paid off", so now I am searching for advise on "proven" tips to help it in the performance department !
I have had it to the dragstrip with a best ET of 14:19@96 mph-"bone stock" and was very pleased with that, but now I will be looking for "proven" ways to increase performance and look for advise to go along with what my desires are !
Thanks for allowing me to join this group ! and I look forward to exchanging with you all in the near future !.......Sincerely,..... Perry Wyatt.

Re: Hello

Welcome to the site, Nice intro!

69 camaros are classics and I'd love to have one, but the old adage they say is true: They don't build them like they used to.. Now they build them more solid, more refined (maybe not more powerful but the power gets to the ground better) The ability to stop and turn aggressively is a huge plus!

Performance wise, how many times have you run at the track with this car? Try playing with shift points/launch..

Just about anything you change on that car, remember to account for the ECM tune.. Also, a mild set of axle back mufflers would improve performance, and sound of the car.. (don't even need loud, just better flowing)

Re: Hello

welcome

Nice looking GT! There's a ton you can do with those 3v V8's. Basics like exhaust, a CAI and a tune should give you a nice boost in performance. The 05+ engines respond better to bolt ons than the previous v6 and 2v v8's.

Cool Re: Hello

Thank You All Very Much, for Welcoming me to the Mustang Evolution !

I appreciate all of your input and based on what little research I have done and all that you each have said, looks like I want to start with Cold Air Induction, Free Flowing Exhaust and a "proper" "tune" !

And while not necessarily performance related,(cosmetic) maybe, some lite' weight tires and wheels !

Thanks again for the warm welcome and I'll be looking forward to answers about the best "products" to use to fulfill those goals !....Perry Wyatt...

p.s....not sure how to do the "thank you" thing(or I would), but I do Thank You All !

"Thank You" is a feature found in the tech forums, unfortunately not the intro board so as you ask more questions and get more answers, you will have the ability to thank people..

Also.. Get back to the track more! Practice makes perfect, your car should oughta be faster than mine, and that's about what I run! Get the launch down pat and you'll be set!
