roll cage

If anyone can help me out. I want to out a roll cage in my car just for looks. The four point roll cage for my 05 mustang. Just for looks. I don't drag race or anything. Would I have to get racing seats or the rear seat delete kit for this?

Re: roll cage

I am sure they make a cage for your car that works with the factory seats. You may have to cut some interior panels though

Re: roll cage

I would highly recommend against getting a cage in your street driven car...yes it will stiffen the chassis and yes it will help you in the event of a roll-over.

But..the risks outweight the benefits to me. Imagine having an accident...now imagine having an accident and your head bouncing off the steel beams you have inserted in your vehicle. Unless you plan on wearing a helmet for normal street driving I'd have to advise against it.

Good info, I have never thought of it that way. Really gives a different view of a roll cage in a passenger car.

Since I drive a vert. I have thought about a roll bar but would like it to incorporate in the light bar on the car. The padding on the light bar could add some protection from this kind of problem.
