v6 mustangs.

sup people. im new to this site and all and i see that everyone here knows about some stuff about performance and what not. now i have a v6 mustang. whats wrong with v6 mustangs? yeaaa not as much power torque and this and that. im not a mechanic or anything but i seen some sick looking 6ers. im planning on doing some performance on mine but why some people look down on the 6 cylinder man. i mean our cars got more gas mileage and bla bla. but i think that just cause we get dual pipes and body kits and stuff. they think we tryin to "pose" or that we are "wanna be's". some people aint got the money to get a v8 but hey. i got a v6 and i like doing a lil performance to my car just to know that im working on it and making it faster. yet its not goin to be as fast as a v8 or sound like it. but i belive that it just feels good to do work to a car that you put your hard working sweat into. i dont know. just something on my mind to post up here. waiting on everyones comments....lol i hope no one disses me on this one.

Re: v6 mustangs.

welcome, I have owned 2 v6 mustangs and they are great cars, just as much a mustang as any other one and without the V6 mustang ford wouldnt be able to product the v8 version.

Happens a lot around here. I've seen a couple with GT badges on the back and the pony still on the front fenders.

I like the sixxer's, and welcome to the site!

Supercharger....

Looking at purchasing the Vortech Supercharger Kit with Aftercooler for 2005-2006 Ford Mustang with 4.0L V6 (V-2 SQ Si-Trim, satin)... it is going for 4300 and will give me 330 Horses... is it a good buy? is the aftercooler necessary? Anyone know of any superchargers that are better or cheaper???

Re: v6 mustangs.

you want some sort of cooling solution (intercooler/aftercooler/heat exchanger etc) as thats going to make more power.

As far as 05+ I am not nearly as well versed and not as many companies make them.

If you want the best bang then go single turbo but good luck finding a kit lol... I know TMA turbos is coming back into the turbo making business and will probably make 4.0L 05+ kits for around 3500 and they will make FAR more hp/tq than a supercharger.

Re: v6 mustangs.

yo as long as it isnt an automatic your chillin in my book. and hell with my 00 v6 5speed ive beaten a 96gt before and even an svt raptor. personally i perfer the v6 over the v8 cuz of the gas milage and you can make a v6 into such a sick sleeper car for super cheap but your car wont have to look like a piece of **** honda

Re: v6 mustangs.

Nothing wrong with a V6 Mustang!

I'm damn proud of mine! Bought her stock and have been modding ever since.

If you look at the December Mustang of the Month thread, she is holding her own in a group of awesome V8 Mustangs. It feels really good to know that your work is appreciated!!! No better feeling.

I don't think anybody is going to hate on you unless you do some really tasteless stuff to it. Good luck!

Re: v6 mustangs.

Welcome to the club, the only thing wrong with a V6 is that it's not a V8! LOL...just kidding. As you can see there are pleanty of V6's here that do quite alright...just look at Lalayla's stang, definately holding her own, like she said.

Sure those aren't 99/04GTs? They came with the 35/40th Anniversary Pony Badges on the side and GT emblems on the rear.

They could be 00-03's that people decided to put tri bar emblems on the fenders instead of leaving the GT emblem. I've seen quite a few GT's like that...the owners felt the plastic "GT" emblem looked tacky.

To the OP:

welcome

Most v8 owners on this site owned a v6 at one time...they are great cars with a decent sized mod market. Nothing wrong with owning one.
