Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

Hello everyone, my name is Dan. First of all, I do not own a Mustang...yet...but I am looking into owning one in the future. I am a major car enthusiast of course and am willing to learn more about Mustangs in general. I also do local automotive light tinting/restoration jobs as well. It's just something that I am good at. I am also big into photography.

I hope to gain more knowledge from all of the members!

I am definitely set on getting a GT at least. I won't even consider V6's. A manual transmission is a must. I'm trying to stay under 14k. I'm in no rush to buy one right this moment, but would love to upgrade from my current vehicle. I realize that V8's are gas guzzlers, but I'm sure it's not a HUGE difference in mpg from my Eclipse GT V6. (Slow, heavy car, lame auto/sporttronic) I'm willing to accept the fuel costs. As far as the year I'm looking for...probably an 02 or higher.

Nothing wrong at all with a 6.

I would just rather go big or go home. Plus I have an obsession with the sound of a V8's rumble.

Re: Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

you can find an 03/04 Mach 1 for around 14, 300hp vs a 99-04 GT being only 260 (plus a DOHC 4.6L vs SOHC 4.6L)

Re: Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

I have actually seen a couple Mach 1's for a little over 13k around here with around 40-50k miles. Same with a few 04 GT's going for 12k also with 50k or less miles. I am keeping my eye on a few of them at the moment.

Re: Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

welcome to a fellow wisconsinite!

There has been a recent bump in Mach 1's for sale this past summer into fall. There are quite a few decent cars out there for 14k or less...and GT's are all over anywhere from 6k to 15k depending on mileage, condition, stealership etc. Keep us updated on what you find.

Nice looking setup you got, checked out your site...might have to do a photo session next late spring/summer. Me and a buddy want to get some shots of our cars done professionally, but we want to finish our exterior/appearance mods before pics.

Re: Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

Hello fellow Wisconsinite!

I have been searching the ads for Mustangs and you are right, they are everywhere. I have seen quite a few Mach 1's for sale and a whole lot of GT's as well. Manual too. All within the mileage that I want.

As far as photos, I love taking all kinds of photos for fun. Cars are my favorite. Best thing is, I take photos and edit them, for free. Would be nice to add some more Mustang pictures on my site.

Re: Introducing Myself, Dan (DSS-Customs)

I test drove a 2003 Mustang GT 5-Speed this evening and it was a blast. Much more fun than my current car. It was just to get an idea of how driving a 5-speed GT felt like. However, the actual GT I drove was not up to my standards because of it's higher mileage, paint scratches, power steering issue, and being the wrong color. It was going for like 8.9k.
