Welcome. I would skip the K&N filter and go for a CAI. You're not going to get much, if any, gains from it. I put one in my stang because I got it really cheap and it is better than the stock filter. You can get a CAI and tune combo from American Muscle for like $50 - $100 more than your quote and you will have much more noticeable gains. They're both easy to install. Here's a link to one you can check out: American Muscle CAI and tune combo.

Great looking car. Welcome to the site! Go for a CAI and stay away from chips. Get a tuner instead

The mod bug will bite you soon.

welcome

Nice looking stang!

Yes a less expensive CAI will be fine, and a handheld tuner is probably a better choice. Chips are a thing of the past, at least for mustangs.

Re: Introduce u... My baby stang..

CAI = Cold Air Intake

Your stock intake is made out of black hardened plastic and the filter is fully concealed in a box. Ford engineers put a snorkel from the box to the fender, but an aftermarket open style filter setup is much better.

Most CAI's come with aluminum piping and a cone shaped open filter that either sits in the engine bay near the right fender or in the fenderwell.

A cheaper CAI off ebay (Bomz) or American Muscle will do just fine. Expect to see a few more hp's and a slightly deeper exhaust tone. More of a show item than a performance mod, but with that considered, just about all mustang owners that mod have one installed under their hood.
