That's how I want one. Cheap and I can build it how I want it. Although I would be tempted to restore it to original. Good luck with it! Have fun and keep us updated on your progress!

It is all up to you. If it's not a low production car or a gt500 I'd make it whatever I wanted. But then I'd be tempted to go original and disect the VIN and restore to it's original condition. Do as you wish but have fun w it!

Trust me. I've been tossing up design ideas around since I bought the car in 06. Couldn't make my mind up but then I decided to honor the past of the mustang and am going to make it gt 350 themed w/o the Shelby moinker. It's not a Gt 350. But I'm going to have fun making it my own.

Was it originally a inline 6 from the factory?? Not too many of them out there being restored. Many are cut up and have the 289 put in them.

I will post pics of the car soon. And I'm trying to make it as original as I can the only thing diffrent will be the 302 v8 that it has. Also I will be working on my fron brakes this weekend.

Re: 1966 Mustang

Welcome. From my experience matching numbers is not that fun. It definatly makes it worth more but I have to find all the numbers on little parts for my dads 69 impala 427 ss and its boring. I'd rather be just buying the parts that fit and bolt em on.

Re: 1966 Mustang

Welcome to the forum. My first Mustang was a 66 Coupe, 289 2V. Loved that car!
