What's up everyone I'm new to this site! Look forward to getting to know y'all. I just bought a 96 Mustang Convertible GT that needs a little TLC!

Thanks for the welcome guys! So far I've compiled this list of what needs to be taken care of. I'm sure as time passes I'll start to find more things that need attention. I put every little detail I could find off bat. The exterior is in decent shape a few scratches here and there but no major dings or dents. I figure I can have fun taking care of this car. Any tips on what to look at mechanically to keep this car running would be appreciated.

Mustang Repair List
1 motor for passenger window
2 hand brake not working
3 brake pads and shoes need replacing
4 Driver Seat off track does not move forward or backward
5 Clamps for Exhaust Pipe, right now the right one is tied on with a wire
6 Driver side widow not aligned, there's a small gap when closed
7 Wiper Blades need replacing
8 Shampoo Interior carpet is very dirty also need mats.
9 Tires
10 Lock/Window Panel on driver side is loose.

Re: Noob!

welcome

Yah I'd say a good amount of those things you can do yourself if you're mechanically inclined.

Also, if you want to replace those worn out parts with used OEM parts, check with places like MPS Auto Salvage and Prestige Mustang. They keep tons of wrecked stangs around and part them out. I just ordered a few parts from MPS much cheaper than new or other salvage yards.

If you want new OEM based parts look into Latemodel Restoration or CJ Pony Parts, etc.

best thing is once its fixed up and lookin good, it is the most rewarding feeling ever cause you take even more pride in your car than you would if a shop fixed it up...
