Quarter mile times

Hey guys I joined this forum a week ago and apologize for not properly introducing myself, I own a Red 2007 Mustang GT 38000 miles and a few go fast mods like LM 62 mm throttle body, the black lung,3.55 rear end, stg 1 cams, CL racer intake and axle back exhaust, and tune. Now what I need are others opinions on is this. Why is it that similar cars to mine with Comp cams 127500 cams can pull a 1/4 mile close to the 12.00 sec times with only maybe 345 or so hp and 4.10s while the new 2011 GT with 4.10s runs about the same or slightly slower. Then there are the supercharged GTs with even 500hp that post 12.3s and so on with of course higher trap speeds. This is making me want to keep my S197 longer in NA form like maybe 2 more years and maybe buying a Boss 302 or so in 2013 or 2014 God providing I am still in 1 piece.

Id say it comes down to the driver, track conditions, and getting traction. You will certainly feel a power increase with the blower, but you need to have all the supporting Mods as well.

Re: Quarter mile times

I totally agree, that's why I added the FFRP racing intake manifold, my engine now revs very freely and fells like it has more valves per cylinder , no more lag in engine response. Then do you think it would be better if I keep this manifold and add a Vortec Blower instead of a roots style blower?

What are you looking to accomplish with the car? Is it a drag car, a road race car, daily driver with some perks? Hard to give you some good advice with out knowing more info first.
