2007 GT or 2011 GT

Hi guys just wondering what your opinion was on this. I have a Colorado Red 2007 Mustang GT and test drove a 2nd 2011 gt 1 week ago. Here is the thing, my 2007 has all the suspension goodies swaybars, lower control arms, strut brace, adj. pan hard bar, tokiko d specs, and roush 1" drop springs. The newer 2011 did not feel as neutral and was not as cart like as my 2007 and I could tell with the newer car cornering would be still enjoyable but not as agile. I feel like I would be trading up to the 2011 only because of the 5.0 potential and the newer look of the 2011, however I would be sacrificing lightweight performance and the athletic feel of my 2007 which made both 2011s feel like everyday drivers and not sport cars. Also should I trade up to the 2011 for power, or should I just add a blower to my 2007, My friend wants to add an edlebrock eforce, or a roush tvs 2300, both I think would make my 2007 more nose heavy and handle worst.

2011 is a superior car overall, you can do the mods you have on it and have a better car but... with twice the price lol so its up to you to decide if its worth the extra money.

what SpectorV said + The 11 for me is a significant improvement over my 2000 gt in all catagories handling / power , but with the mods you already have on the 07 makes the decision tougher .

I agree, get the 11' model. Heck run it with low boost and your around 550rwhp.

2011 for the win. I had a 07 and was thinking the same. In the end I bought the 5.0 and couldn't be happier. Also as stated above I can throw on a blowers with 7psi and have well over 500whp.

DDTCM I am glad to see someone who experienced a similar situation that I am in right now. I am about to install FFRP hot rod cams to keep my car fun sound wise for a few more months before moving on to the next level 2011gt. How much faster is your 2011gt compared to your 2007gt with mods including 4.10s. Also did you see articles on the possibility of those 5.0s going to direct fuel injection in the near future. Also which blower gives you over 500whp at 7psi for 2011gts.

My friend keeps telling me to get the Camaro instead, he is a Chevy fan I guess. I like the 2011gt interior better though.

I would go for the 2011! 5.0 is BAD A**! Better platform to start from. That will be the next Mustang I buy for sure!

NO CAMARO!!!

If you are going to trade up in a few months don't waste your time with adding the hot rod cams and if you don't already have LTs those cams will be a waste of money.Save that cash and apply it to your down payment,TT&L or acai/tuner for the new 5.0 My friend who happens to run our local forum has a 06 with stock gearing, axel backs and O.R. h pipe cai&tuner added hot rod cams. His car dynoed at 310,if that on dyno day........waste of money IMO.

With mods my 07 made 298whp so the 2011 with current mods will probably Bea 80+ HP difference. I plan on adding a lethal OR x and a new BBR 93 tune by Feb which is our next dyno day so that should put me well over 100whp difference.

The blower I was speaking of was a procharger at 7psi and it made close to 600whp.

Pretty much any blower at 7-8psi on these new 5.0's will easily net over 500rwhp. The feb issue of 5.0 mustang mag did tests using the ford racing, kenne bell, roush and vortech blowers. I even seen a mag test the procharger and the whipple.
