Hey all,
I joined the ranks of mustang ownership in January and couldnt be happier
I bout an 03 v6 pony package, 5speed with the mach 1000 audio. car has 87k on it and i look forward to making it the best it can be
Rick
and now that i am here, i have a few questions. car has 87k miles. what basic maintenance items should i take care of before getting into any modifications.
depends if you know what's been done to the car in the past.
I ALWAYS regardless of the vehicle, change the oil day 1 when I buy it. You never know if the dealership is telling you the truth that they have changed it or if they used the cheapest oil on earth.
at 87k, i'd replace the spark plugs, coolant, serpentine belt, air filter and so on.
Now if you plan on replacing the air filter with a CAI or other modifications that would change those parts out you'd be fine until you do some more than likely.
you have one GREAT color, one of the BEST put on 99-04 period. Sonic blue is awesome! take those stupid running ponys off the side, get it lowered and some wheels, dual exhaust, hood scoop maybe... and your done.

change your fuel filter... one of the MOST over looked things. Also clean the MAF sensor very good (on contact NO residue electronics cleaner is what to use on it.
Did the fuel filter, removed the airbox silencer, and removed slack from the throttle cable. Car feels completely different. Muuuch better. Trying to locate a gt rear end next
