Another AZ newbie with a 69

Just wanted to introduce myself, my names Cody, I'm 22, live in AZ and recently bought a 1969 mustang coupe. I got the car for $5000 and it's in pretty good shape. The exterior has some tiny dents and oxidation. The interior is in great shape although later on I will be replacing everything with black oem parts. When I bought the car, I had to drive it home about 40 miles and it ran flawlessly with only a little play in the steering. I also found out that ill need to replace the carb cause it has a really hard time starting when the engine is hot or has been sitting a while.

I'll start out by saying that I don't have a lot of cash left over each paycheck so this will be a slow restoration but it will be well worth it and it's great to own a great classic car.

Thanks for having me!!

I guess I should add that it has a 302 ci engine with a 2-barrel carb which will be converted over to a 4-barrel later on.

Some of my other plans is to change the entire steering to rack and pinion, front and rear suspension will be converted to coilover suspension and there are a lot of other small things on my list lol

Thanks guys!! I've already noticed from the nice welcomes! Can't wait to start working on it. So far, I've replaced the dim factory tail lights with LED tail lights, replaced the battery, voltage regulator and distributor cap parts, and also bought a cup holder made for the year mustang since they didn't originally come with cup holders lol.

Yeah those are the tails, they're cool cause they keep the stock look but are brighter at night.

I live about 70 miles north of Phoenix, I don't really wanna take the mustang down black canyon hill till the loose steering is solved haha but yeah that would be cool to meet some other mustang owners!
Thanks!

Thanks! I'll have to agree with you! I'm on a few other mustang sites as well as a site strictly for vintage mustangs and well... Since most vintage mustang owners are older, it's hard to get help cause it seems as if the older guys think I'm dumb for wanting to do anything I wanna do to the car. I know there are some things I want to change or upgrade but the "classic" part of the mustang isn't gonna change, the look will remain the same with of course a new paint job and minor things but It's only the steering and stuff like that I wanna go for the modern day feel.[COLOR="Silver"]

Nice! Yeah I'd have to say I love the body lines on the 69 more than the other years of the classics but mine is a coupe, I personally like the fastbacks better but this is still great to own.

So I figured I'd put up a pic of an amazing 69 interior I found which is exactly what I wanna go for... Oh and if anyone knows who's car this is and where they got that custom center console made, please tell me lol

And here's the link with more pics and info on the car with that interior. I must say that this is the baddest 69 mustang ever lol!
