New member out of why not Minot, ND

Well this is my first post of many to come. I have a 2011 mustang gt manual with all the base options, I bought it for 28,100 dollars. I bought a brand new 2007 f150 for 17,800 and sold it two years later for 21,000 with only 10,000 left on the loan so 10 grand went to the mustang and 1000 to a well used 1980 bronco l6. The mustang has the basic mods to beat pretty much everything in this small town which has cured the tuning bug for now. My bronco was my winter beater( which is needed in this city because average snow fall per year is over a hundred inches) till two weeks ago a small rodent ate through a plug wire causing number six cylinder to detonate and burning a hole right through it, so now the mustang will have to do while im rebuilding the 300. So I went to sears to buy snow tires the grandtreck from dunlop a very cheap tire at the 235 55r18 size at 148 per tire but they are on back order till next year. So now im spending 169 on blizzacks the same size. But as of right now the stock all seasons are doing better then I thought they would with a inch of snow on the ground. A little info on snow and mustangs will help out a lot if anyone has any thanks.

Welcome! Post pics up. I also have to drive my stang during the winter (2012 GT) since its my DD. We haven't had snow yet, but I'm glad to hear that the all seasons are doing well. I'm still contemplating whether I should get blizzaks or not.

Yeah I am still learning the site but I will try to post some pics of my mustangs 87 gt as well build in process. I just know for a fact that the all seasons don't grib at any temp below 20 which come jan the average is 5 below zero, so snow tires is a need lol

Hmm, I didn't know they lost grip below 20 deg. Maybe I should rethink the snow tires then lol.

The pirellis that come on the brembo pkg cars aren't meant to be driven at temps Lower than 40.. Had to replace two of mine already w 13k miles..

Haha, umm... So is it bad I use summer performance tires in Oklahoma where it gets to like 0 during the winter? Ha, cause there are times I just start sliding for no reason.

I live in AR 20 min from the MO state line.. Gets just as cold here.. if I gave it more than just enough throttle itd break loose.. Glad to have the new tires they already seem worlds better..

Yeah I know I need pics up but I am using the app on my phone and I haven't had a chance to update the profile when I get home from 16 hours of work lol

But yes snow ice tires are nice even where places don't get a lot of snow because the compound is a lot soft and doesn't get affected by cold temps. Even my procomp mud terrains have bad traction on frozen roads versus my 87 gt with snow ice tires which did outstanding in 2 inch or less snow
