Hello from Lebanon, MO

Greetings everyone!!! I'm new to the forum, but not to the Mustang. I've previously owned a '69 Fastback and an '07 GT Premium. After 2 years of stupidly pumping tanker loads of gas through my 2011 Ranger XLT 4x4, I've decided that I need to revert back to the impracticle homeowner I once was and park my butt in a Mustang again. On 4/9/2013, I ordered a 2014 race red GT base coupe, with MT-82 and Track Pack. I no longer need the bells and whistles of a premium coupe and had a gut full of rapid leather seating wear. I just need raw power, plenty of scat and medium stone cloth seats. My neighbor (a dual Ranger owner) told me I could borrow his spare Ranger if I needed to haul something. He's a staunch Ford man and loves Mustangs too. Guess he will rate a rip-roaring ride or two or more in the new Stang.

Welcome! Sounds like we've got the same car, except mine is a 2013. I know you'll enjoy the **** out of it.

Batman, I've been drooling in anticipation of my dealer delivery notification. The 2014 will be a huge boost over the 2007 GT I had. As you probably know, Ford has us over a barrel on the "options" gambit. Things that I wanted would also force me to buy things I didn't. So, I chose the base GT coupe this time and went for muscle with no frills and dressings. I can always add a few items along the way... A CAI, hood struts, a solid shifter and throaty mufflers to start. I'm more of a Plain Jane exterior fan, with hidden upgrades and additions.

I totally know.
Me: "Can't I just get the 3.73 gears without the rest of that stuff?"
Guy at Ford dealership: "No, you have to buy this entire package! MUHUHAHAHA"

I'm happy with it, though. I'll post pics on here one day..

I got the same response at my dealership. I definitely wanted the 3.73's and stick, but not necessarily the Brembo brakes. But having the brakes forced on me with the Track Pack, I DID prefer the 255/40/19 rubber and wheel upgrade. In my opinion, the standard available rims are way too common and unsightly. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be very happy as ordered. The only rub will be buying premium gas.
