My new 2014 v6

Hi all, I picked up my 2014 convertible v6 premium last week. So far I love it. Getting silver GT stripes installed tomorrow from the dealer. Praying it turns out nice. Will post pictures when it's done. I also just got the windows tinted but the picture here is me picking it up at the dealership.

Well, I went to pick up my car from the dealership. First off I was not happy with what I was told. It's never a good thing when the accessories manager calls you and says the color is a lot lighter than he expected. First off when I bought the car I negotiated the stripes in the deal. I asked for the silver stripes that are listed in the back of the mustang brochure. I really like the accessories manager he was really cool. He told me they subcontract that work out and if I was to get the actual mustang stripes from ford it would have cost $1250.00 just for the stripes. While I am glad he was trying to save me money I feel like I should have been given the option. The image below shows it with a silver stripe but it looks more like an off white. The manager has agreed to redo it if I like. I told him I was possibly thinking about white. If you look on the hood he put a little strip of white next to the so called silver. I am starting to like the so called silver as it looks white but might not show the dirt as much. What does everyone think? I am however going to have them redo the stripes at least part of them as the width between the stripes is not the same throughout the car.

Yes they are not factory. They have a guy that comes in on Mondays to do all of their stripe work. He provides the stripes as well. He said he could have done a metallic like the one used by the factory but he doesn't recommend it because it doesn't last as long as the flat kind. Pretty sure that BS but I can't say if he's lying or not.

I'd make them redo it and see what it looks like with the original color you wanted.

Welcome, by the way!

Tint was a good idea and strips don't look bad actually.

I noticed a 2011 the other day with metallic stripes and they were faded quite a bit. I didn't give it another thought until I read your comment. The guy may be on to something
