Is there that much difference in 373 and 410?

You'll notice a difference more or less depending on what ratio you started out with. Say for example you start out with 3.55 and try both the 3.73 and 4.10. Each will feel relatively faster as you shorten the gear ratio. But if you're starting from a much taller ratio then even a 3.73 will make a worlds difference and the 4.10 will just be the icing on the cake.

However it just occurred to me that we've been talking about the 4spd auto here, maybe the 4.10s will be a bit too low for a daily driver. Higher speed freeway driving will really change the gas mileage of the car. But if it's only driven around town then it won't sacrifice much gas mileage at all. Depends on how it's to be driven and whether mileage is even a factor to the owner lol

No no no no no lol first mod should be a PI swap. Every mod before that will be lame with a npi car.

Your competition with npi heads are: Hondas, bicycles, roller bladers, and old farts with Lil rascals lol

Good advise for 96-up NPI cars but he has a pushrod 5.0.

PI is short for performance improved. Which applies to all 4.6l 2v v8's from 99-04. The only non PI motors were made from 96-98. 1995 was the last year for the 5.0, most enthusiasts prefer the 5.0 over the non PI 4.6's.

Look on your door for a code and see if you have a Z or an M. If you have an M then your gear ratio is 2.73 and if you have a Z then you have 3.08 gears.
