Talking First Time 14' V6 Stang

Hey everyone, i made a previous thread about me choosing between two mustangs I was going to get and I finally settled and finished the deal on a new 2014 Mustang v6 manual in charcoal grey with 3 miles. It is not the premium so just the base but man do I love it. Plan is to keep the car for about 2-3 years and depending on where I am at in my life, trade it in and get either a 2014 GT or even the new styles if the incentive is there. I am glad to be a part of this community as a long time lurker now I can say I'm part of it for sure. Greetings from Miami Florida with my first mustang!

Will post a pic soon of it in person, but here is the car from the dealer before I took it home this evening;

Sweet car. My 2nd favorite color in a car is dark gray (Anthracite, actually). Ford is pretty close to that color. Just keep it until the wheels fall off. Add fog lights, painted mirror caps to match (so it looks like a Premium), and that's it. Everyone wants a GT, but consider that you bought a 300hp car for just a bit more than Corolla money. My last tank I got 27mpg. And V8 aside, it brings a grin to my face every time I drive it. For getting back and forth to work, it's ten times more fun, has more features, and I've actually gotten the tires to chirp WITH the traction control on. Manual rocks.

I paid $19K and change (got the fancy green paint) for a car that's this much fun to drive. Best deal ever in automotive history. To those lurkers out there reading this, get one now before the new ones come and ruin the party.

Yeah I am looking into some basic mods but I'm also cautious about the warranty because it is a new car. Some of what people have said are essentials are:

Oil separator

Shift bracket

Strut tower brace

Any other recommendations for little upgrades that should have been factory done? Not considering exhaust or engine performance yet, just add ons that are best utilized first on the car.

Some good advise there. Being that we have two different platforms, with different running gear, I really don't know on the newer models. If you are concerned with warranty issues, I say drive it and enjoy it. Do the small things that are recommended by others here, as you are checking on now. My car was used, and had about 75,000 on the clock, so no worries for me. But I tend to not worry about much anyway

one of my recomendations is to talk to your sales person whenever you can and have them introduce you to the service advisor. Ask what mods they are OK with. I make it a point to buy my oil filter from my selling dealer and chat up sales/service when I go in. This just helped me get a new axle under wtty (slight bend in it) when I was originally told it would be an uphill battle.

side note: your color is my 2nd fav.

Good recommendation in that, I don't know if the car has a break in period but I really havnt explored how much this car can perform too; keeping it under 4k RPM max and really gentle in the shifting. So far I have almost 200 miles on it and my first service is 500 miles, I think after I hit 2k miles I'll start adding engine and drivetrain options. Why fix it if it ain't broke in a way. Besides it would be enjoyable to feel the limiting parts of the car and then mod it so I can appreciate the difference
