New 2014 Mustang GT owner

I am excited to introduce myself to the Mustang Evolution community. I flew out from St. Louis to Washington DC to pick up my new 2014 Oxford White Mustang GT Track Pack last Tuesday. It was a fun 850 mile drive home. I look forward to putting many more miles on her. My initial plans were to purchase either a new 2015 Mustang GT, or Camaro 1LE or Challenger Scat Pack. Although I enjoyed the 1LE, I really enjoyed the 2014 Mustang.

This is my 32nd car in the last ten years and my first Ford. I am hoping to have good luck with her and look forward to doing a few modifications to make it my own. Reading through the forums, it seems like there is a lot of information and opinions. I figured I would drive the car for a few months stock before I do any modifications to learn more about the car.

New to Ford, but not American muscle, I owned a 2006 GTO that I threw a big cam in, full catless exhaust and other supporting mods. The car put down 425whp and I am hoping to at least match this output with the Mustang. For those of you interested, here are just a few of my past cars: 2006 GTO, 2007 Lotus Elise Type 72d, 2006 Honda S2000, 2005 Subaru STI protuned, 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata (about 240whp). Here are my current rides: 2012 Mazda Miata, 2009 Infiniti G37 and my favorite toy, Kawasaki ZX14r.

Here are some pics:

I'm looking forward to learning more about Mustangs from the forum.

Nice looking car! Why did you have to fly to DC to get it? Just curious

I got a really good deal on it. If you are patient and are willing to travel, you can find the best deals.

Congrats on the new car. Did I read this right that you bought 32 cars in the last 10 years?

Yes, that is correct. 32 cars in 10 years and that does not include the motorcycles I have owned. Count those and you are approaching 40.

Alex, I appreciate it!

Now, to pick a favorite among the 32 is difficult. I liked them all for different reasons. The lotus for it uniqueness and handling. I loved my GTO for its raw power. I really miss my mazdaspeed miata. The only reason I got rid of it was it would not pass the emissions testing in my area with the upgrades I put on it.

Anytime! Having driven everything here extensively I know how you mean (I used to work for an Auction and a couple of the aforementioned were in my family!) I learned how to drive on an MX5 so they're always going to hold a small place in my heart but I've always wanted to get behind the wheel of the MS Miata, I've heard they're a boat load of fun with a little boost. The Elise was just a brute animal, I loved everything about it except for (getting in and out) and the base of the shifter rattling like mad! I loved the 6.0 Goat I got to drive and was really blown away by the comfort/gearing/power but it just wasn't visceral enough. I could talk cars all day long Let me know if there's ever anything I can help out with, I'm a PM away!

Nice 2014! I love it in white. Almost got a new white one myself but ended up with used 2014 in black. Now you have to start listening to YouTube vids of axle back exhausts!

Congrats on a nice ride, you're gonna have fun with it. You'll find lots of good people and info here and plenty of ideas to keep your head spinning once you start modding. Welcome to the club.

All the info has been overwhelming. On past cars, I had one or two different aftermarket companies to choose from for parts. There's nearly 30 for the Mustang. I'm trying to pick an offroad midpipe and catback right now

I too just came to own a 2014 Oxford white GT. Had a hard time finding a white one myself. I think they look killer with the white and the brembo wheels. The dealer who finally found mine hadn't seen one in white with the brembos (it's a small dealer in a small town) but everyone was really digging it. I hope the mustang lives up to your expectations! I personally don't think you can beat a ford.

Thanks. Black was my first choice, but once I saw the white with the Track Pack wheels, I thought it was the perfect fit. I had to fly out of town to get mine. It wasn't so much the color as it was the price.

Man, I couldn't find a dealer that didn't have a black one they wanted to sell me. Lol. But my last vehicle (2007 tacoma x-runner) was black. I needed a change. I think black looks good too, but only when it's clean. I guess you can say that about any color but white does seem to hide some of that in my opinion. Anyway, love your car
