Returning to the S197 Family

Hey guys, its been about 2 years since i owned my 2005 S197, I'm buying a 13 deep impact blue gt premium with track pack tomorrow. I was curious if there was anything I should keep an eye out for before closing the deal (defects, mechanical issues, etc). I'm also located in Cromwell, Ct, was curious to see if there was any local clubs or anything going on before the season completely ends!

awesome, 2013GTpremium and I may both be interested in that. Car is apparently CPO but has corsa axelbacks and an offroad x pipe being replaced by the dealer with a new factory h-pipe. They are including all aftermarket parts with the sale.

If you look at mine and Rob's threads (here and the other forum mentioned) we've been going for rides for a few years....we set a decent but not crazy pace. We run 3 year in MA and CT last one was CT near you guys with a blast through the Devils Hopyard and a run up Tater Hill. That one was real intense and will be repeated. I only have a guess of how many folks will show up but I'll be surprised if it's less than 25 and if you didn't get to take part in rides as Z owners it is pretty cool to see folks reactions when we go by.

except for the grumpy old man in the Mercedes Vert last ride that evidently was yelling at the tail cars on one the last rides.....

Welcome back and congrats man! That's really cool that they're throwing in the parts, I swear I've never heard of anyone doing that before. What kind of mileage is on the car? I would take a look around for obvious wear and tear and I would strongly suggest taking the car on a long test drive. Feel it out, make sure there's no hesitation, floating front end (take your hands off the wheel and see how it tracks) Use your best judgement, these cars are damn near bullet proof. And drop me a line if you need any parts

Sounds good brother! Get used to the car first. Beat the crap out of it and find its weak spots. To me it might be suspension or braking, to you it could be power, but I think there's plenty in there. The GT is such a formidable contender when in the right hands. Again not to sound like a broken record but get acclimated to the car, find something you don't like, and I'll be here to help!

Happy Modding.

It's honestly not that bad of a ride if you leave at around 6am. I've done it before and turned right around. Get 2 birds with one stone and check out Philly. Plenty of stuff to do downtown!

Nice! She looks like she's in great shape and begging for a shakedown run or two. Something's telling me you've already put a few miles on her though. Enjoy the ride and keep it pointed straight!
